Vol. 367 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Donegal Pier.

73.

Mr. Coughlan

asked the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry the action, if any being taken in relation to improvement works to be carried out at Port Pier, Inver, County Donegal.

The development scheme originally proposed for Port Pier, Inver, County Donegal, was not justified on economic grounds. With a view to drawing up a modified scheme which would meet the needs of the fishermen, a representative of my Department recently met the local fishermen to discuss the matter. As a result of that meeting a modified scheme has now been proposed and an engineering report and estimate of cost is being sought from the Office of Public Works on receipt of which the proposal will be reappraised.
