Vol. 367 No. 3

Written Answers. - Newmarket (Cork) Development Association.

66.

asked the Minister for Labour if and when funds will be made available to the Newmarket Development Association under the youth employment scheme to complete some unfinished work in the Newmarket area.

Newmarket Development Association received assistance from my Department in 1984 and 1985 to carry out environmental improvement works in the Newmarket area. However, projects providing work of the nature proposed by the association under its recent application are now given low priority under the revised teamwork scheme and sponsors have been advised that no grant will be approved for them under that scheme in the current year. They have, however, been advised to submit an application under my Department's social employment scheme.
