Vol. 367 No. 6

Written Answers. - Teamwork Scheme.

93.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will continue the scheme for the employment of youth and community workers in the Caherciveen area, when the existing employees must leave their employment and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Government recently decided to allocate an additional £2 million for the Teamwork scheme in 1986. As a result, any application made to my Department for further grant aid for the project in question, which is part of a larger project organised by Kerry Diocesan Youth Services, will be carefully considered.

It is a condition of the Teamwork scheme, however, that in order to allow the greatest number of young people to benefit from a temporary employment opportunity, all participants must leave the scheme after they have completed one year's employment.
