asked the Minister for the Environment the amount of revenue collected in the Cork area on vehicular licences in the years 1983, 1984 and 1985 on (a) cars and (b) commercial vehicles.

The amounts of road tax collected in Cork city and county for private cars for the years 1983, 1984 and 1985 were £8.6 million, £10.2 million and £11.2 million, respectively. The amounts collected for goods vehicles for the corresponding years were £1.4 million, £1.5 million and £1.6 million, respectively.
