As my predecessor indicated in reply to previous questions on 12 November last, it is proposed to build a new headquarters for my Department on a State-owned site beside the Department's present headquarters. It is estimated that, at present day prices, the cost of the project, which is being handled by the Office of Public Works, will be of the order of £20 million.
A programme of building for the Defence Forces has been drawn up for the next three to five years subject to financial resources being available. Office accommodation is only an incidental part of this programme and is not separately costed.
