I can confirm that vegetable processing is to be resumed shortly at Mallow and the company involved (which includes participation by Siúicre Éireann) expects to recruit 31 people this year.
The Sugar Company is involved, with other interests, in a potato marketing operation to be set up at Carlow.
I welcome the new initiatives which should be of considerable benefit to the two areas in question.
