Vol. 368 No. 10

Written Answers. - Athlone By-Pass.

59.

asked the Minister for the Environment the consideration which he has given to the case put forward by a group of residents who will be gravely discommoded by the up-coming works in connection with the Athlone by-pass route, and who have put forward proposals to his Department to alleviate the matter.

Construction of the Athlone by-pass scheme is proceeding on the basis of proposals submitted by Westmeath County Council and approved by my Department. The financial and technical implications of the proposals referred to in the question are being given every consideration in the Department and there will be no avoidable delay in conveying a decision on them.
