Vol. 368 No. 10

Written Answers. - Kildare Castles.

88.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is proposed that the Office of Public Works will take in charge castles at Carbury and Grange in County Kildare.

Carbury Castle was listed under the National Monuments Acts in 1986. This protection is considered sufficient in present circumstances. Arrangements are in train for the taking of Grange Castle into State care. It is expected that the legal formalities will be completed before the end of the year.
