Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Business Development Scheme.

474.

asked the Minister for Labour the total amount of grants paid under (a) the employment incentive scheme and (b) the work experience programme, to firms established under the business development scheme.

The Business Expansion Scheme — also known as the Business Development Scheme — provides tax relief for individuals on money invested for specific purposes and is operated by the Revenue Commissioners. Companies in receipt of grants under the employment incentive scheme and the work experience programme operated by the Department of Labour can also qualify under the business expansion scheme. As the information sought is not compiled for qualifying purposes, I regret that I cannot be of any assistance to the Deputy.
