Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Guinness's Brewery Explosion.

475.

asked the Minister for Labour if he has established the cause of the recent explosion at Guinness's Brewery; and if his Department are happy that steps are being taken to ensure that, as far as possible, there is no recurrence of such an explosion.

The incident has been the subject of continuing investigation by the industrial inspectorate of my Department. Due to the many complex factors involved it has not yet been possible to reach a conclusion about the cause of the explosion. When the findings of the investigation become available the industrial inspectorate will issue advice on measures necessary to avoid such explosions.
