Vol. 369 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

96.

asked the Minister for the Environment when verification of a previous grant payment will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who refutes that any previous payment was made; and if he will ensure that a copy of the previous house improvement grant cheque allegedly paid will be sent to the applicant in order to resolve this matter.

The application in this case had to be rejected, as contrary to a qualifying condition of the house improvement grants scheme, a previous reconstruction grant was paid in April 1981. Arrangements are being made to furnish a copy of the relevant payable order to the applicant as requested by the Deputy. In any event the estimated cost of the particular eligible repairs works was below the qualifying threshold of £500 necessary in order to be considered for a grant under the scheme.
