asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding recognition in England and other European countries of Irish-trained primary school teachers; and if there has been a change in the regulations affecting this issue, particularly in Britain.

Irish-trained primary teachers are not at present recognised in English schools. The matter is a subject of ongoing discussion between my Department and the Department of Education and Science in London.
We are not aware of any Irish-trained teachers being recognised in other European countries, except in special "European schools" established under the European Community where exceptional arrangements apply.
