Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - Appointment of Remedial Teacher.

207.

asked the Minister for Education when he proposes to give sanction to Knockbridge national school, Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, Kilsaran, County Louth for the appointment of a remedial teacher; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department sanctioned the appointment of a remedial teacher to be shared between Knockbridge and Tallanstown national schools on the 26 April, 1986, and the boards of management of the schools subsequently made the appointment.

An application for the appointment of a remedial teacher has been received from Kilsaran national school near Castlebellingham. It was suggested that Kilsaran would share a remedial post with Stabannon national school. Remedial teaching posts are allocated in accordance with a priority of need and this application will be considered towards the end of the year in the light of the availability of such posts.
