Vol. 369 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Offaly Road.

93.

Mr. Cowen

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange for immediate repairs to be carried out on the Canal Line Road from Pullough to Rahan, County Offaly, which is now impassable and for which the Office of Public Works is now responsible, in view of the fact that the residents on the Canal Line cannot be reached by their doctor due to the inaccessibility of the roadway.

The Commissioners of Public Works have no immediate plans to carry out repairs to the road in question which is not a public road but a canal towpath. However, they would have no objection to Offaly County Council carrying out repairs as they have done previously and will contact the council regarding this work.
