Discussions about revised rosters in the prisons were commenced under the conciliation and arbitration scheme some months before the Committee of Inquiry into the Penal System presented its report. These discussions are still continuing. As proceedings under that scheme have to be treated as confidential to the parties involved, it would be inappropriate for me to give any further information at this stage.
