The information requested is set out in the following tables. In addition to loans made by the EIB from its own resources, the tables include details of the loans received from the New Community Instrument (NCI), which is also administered by the EIB. The loans made to the Exchequer were in respect of a wide variety of projects including roads, sanitary services, forestry, harbours, telecommunications, education-training centres, arterial drainage and factory construction. I consider that the European Investment Bank has been a useful source of funds to Ireland since we became a member of the EC and I hope it will continue this role in the future.
