Vol. 369 No. 11

Written Answers. - Enforcement of Traffic By-Laws.

163.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will direct the Garda authorities to keep the rear entrance exit from a school (details supplied) in Dublin clear of parked cars. A wall collapsed in the school some time ago and the rear exit was used as an escape route. In view of the fact that cars often park up against the exit doors preventing these from opening and of the serious dangers involved, will he ensure that the matter is given priority?

It will be appreciated that the enforcement of traffic by-laws or regulations in specific areas or at a particular location must be left to the local officers of the Garda Síochána who have to take account of all relevant circumstances including other demands on Garda time. The terms of the Deputy's question have been brought to the notice of the Garda Síochána.
