Consultations have been completed with interested parties on the basis of Galway City Council appointing two members to the Western Health Board. As I have informed the House my proposals on health board re-organisation are with the Government. Accordingly, I do not propose to amend the health boards regulations which would allow the proposed appointments to be made in advance of a Government decision on my comprehensive proposals for health board re-organisation.
