The average net price (i.e. after deduction of levies) for manufacturing milk in September, the latest month for which official figures are available, was 79.1 pence per gallon. This represents 78.6 per cent of the EC target price for milk — 100.69 pence per gallon — which applied prior to 22 September. That price has, as a result of the Green Pound devaluation on that date, been increased to 106.57 pence.
