Limerick East): I am aware of the unemployment situation in New Ross and the surrounding area and I am assured by IDA that they are actively promoting the town and in particular, a 27.5 acres site there for suitable industrial projects. The IDA's efforts have resulted in, for example, Barrow joinery works implementing an expansion proposal which is expected to involve the creation of 32 extra jobs.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has any proposals for job creation on the Edermine site, County Wexford.
Limerick East): The Edermine site, which is the property of Wexford County Council, is recognised by IDA as one which is particularly suited for pharmaceutical or food industries. A new brochure to help the promotion of the site is being prepared by Wexford County Council and IDA, and the facility is now being vigorously promoted by IDA, both at home and in its overseas offices.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware of the many announcements of job approvals for Wexford town over the past year by the Taoiseach, the IDA; if he will now state the number of jobs which will be created; where and when; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
