The cost of servicing Oireachtas committees, excluding staff and office supplies, was £3,513 in 1983, £102,991 in 1984, £182,225 in 1985 and is £182,300 to date in 1986. A breakdown of these figures is contained in the attached tabular statement.
Staff costs are not included in the above figures as they are borne by the Department providing staff for each committee. Separate records are not kept of the usage by the committees of stationery, printing, etc, which costs are provided for from the global subhead (F3) for office supplies of the Vote for the Houses of the Oireachtas.
