Vol. 370 No. 15

Written Answers. - Community Information Centres.

120.

asked the Minister for Health if he will locate community information centres in Drumcondra and the Navan Road areas, in view of the pressing need in these locations.

Under the terms of the National Social Service Board Act, 1984, the National Social Service Board is responsible for promoting the dissemination of information and advice in relation to social services. The board carries out this function by assisting local community groups to establish and operate community information centres. The normal procedure is that local groups apply to the board for assistance and there have been no such applications from any group in the areas that the Deputy mentions.
