Vol. 371 No. 2

Written Answers. - Report of Salmon Review Group.

99.

asked the Minister for the Marine, if he proposes to make any changes in the laws relating to salmon fishing during the current year.

I do not intend making any changes in the laws relating to salmon until I have studied the report of the salmon review group. This group was set up by my predecessor, Deputy Kavanagh, to examine the operation of our salmon conservation measures and to recommend any changes considered necessary in the light of the incidence of illegal salmon fishing. I understand that the group hope to report shortly.
