A payable order in respect of a grant of £1,610 issued to the applicant on 26 January last. If he did not receive it he should notify my Department immediately. The grant is based in the normal way on two-thirds of the Department's estimated cost of the works carried out.

177.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a mortgage subsidy from the person named at the address given.

179.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason the original house improvement grant approval issued to a person (details supplied) in County Clare did not take account of the pre-1940 status of the house, and if the recent payment of £3,600 was an interim one.

The payment already made in this case related to the provision of water (£400), sewerage (£400), bathroom (£800) and the building of an extension (£2,000), giving total grants of £3,600. Further consideration will be given to the payment of a fabric grant when the applicant furnishes evidence as to the age of the house. At that stage it will be decided whether a pre-1940 grant applies.

180.

There is no record in my Department of the receipt of an application for a new house grant from the person named at the address stated. In that case a grant will be paid following an inspection if it establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. The inspection will be carried within the next few weeks.
