Vol. 371 No. 8

Written Answers. - St. Ciaran's National School, Hartstown.

228.

asked the Minister for Education if she will confirm that the five semi-permanent classroom extensions to St. Ciaran's national school, Hartstown, Dublin 15, approved by her predecessor will proceed; and if they will be ready for the school term commencing September 1987.

My Department have agreed as an exceptional matter to grant-aid the provision of five semi-permanent classrooms by way of extension to St Ciaran's national school, Hartstown, Dublin 15. The school authorities have forwarded tenders for the project for my Department's examination. The school authorities have meanwhile been advised to seek local authority planning permission. I am hopeful that the classrooms will be ready for the school term commencing September 1987. The Deputy will, however, appreciate that I am not in a position to give an absolute undertaking in this respect, as the factors governing the progress of the project are not all within my Department's control.
