asked the Minister for the Environment if a further inspection will be carried out for a person (details supplied) in County Offaly who was granted £671 in respect of windows and wishes to carry out further works on his house.

Grants of £671 have been approved for the replacement of defective windows-doors and the carrying out of necessary repairs to the basic fabric of the house. A further inspection is being arranged to establish if the applicant is entitled to any increase in the grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position concerning the house improvement grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

An inspection with a view to payment of the grant will be carried out within the next few weeks.

An inspection was carried out by 27 March 1987 and the applicant will be notified of his grant entitlement, if any, as soon as possible.

A new house grant of £2,000 will be paid following an inspection if it establishes that the house has been satisfactorily completed and occupied and that all the conditions of the grant scheme have been fulfilled. This inspection will be arranged when the applicant notifies my Department that she is in occupation of the house as her normal place of residence.

The handling of applications for the £5,000 surrender grant is a matter for the relevant local authority up to the stage of certification for payment. A certificate confirming that the applicant has complied with the conditions of the scheme was received recently in my Department and the grant will be paid within the next few weeks.

There is no record of the receipt in my Department of an application for a house improvement grant from the person named.

There is no record of the receipt of an application for a home improvement grant from the person named at the address supplied. There is however an application from a person of the same name with a broadly similar address. In that case payment has been deferred pending the receipt of documentation requested from the applicant.

The application in this case is in respect of the new house grant of £2,250, which is payable to the builder of a house. Approval to this grant cannot issue until the house has been inspected for the purpose of the national house building guarantee scheme. An inspection of the house will be carried out shortly.

There is no record of the receipt in my Department of an application for a new house grant from the person named.

Following inspection, the applicant has submitted additional information requested by the Department for the purposes of establishing his eligibility for a grant. He will be notified of the outcome as soon as possible.

The inspector was unable to gain admittance to the house when he called recently. The applicant has now been requested to indicate what arrangements can be made to have the inspection done.
