Vol. 372 No. 3

Written Answers. - Community Care Services.

15.

asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the financial provisions, if any, which have been made for community care in each of the Eastern Health Board areas for 1987, giving comparable figures for each of the past three years for which figures are available, adjusted for inflation; and if he will make a statement on the trend indicated.

The amounts allocated by the Eastern Health Board for community care, excluding the services paid for by the GMS (Payments) Board, in each community care area, expressed at constant 1984 prices, in the years 1984-1986 are set out in the following schedule. Information in relation to the provisions for 1987, have not yet been submitted to my Department. In 1987, as in previous years, all health boards have been asked to protect community care services as far as possible. In this respect, the Eastern Health Board's allocation has been increased from £177.60 million in 1986 to £183.210 million in 1987.
