I am informed by the Garda authorities that the transfer of the Garda district headquarters from Rathfarnham to Tallaght, which took place on 10 April 1987, will not affect the level of manpower available for operational duty in the Rathfarnham area. The transfer involved only the district headquarters staff and the Garda authorities state that in fact both the Rathfarnham and Tallaght areas should benefit from the improved operational efficiency arising from the new facilities at Tallaght station.
