For some time now, my Department has promoted a programme of special educational measures for schools in disadvantaged areas, which includes a scheme for providing additional teaching assistance in such schools. To date, a total of 102 extra teachers have been allocated to provide additional teaching assistance in 81 schools in disadvantaged areas.
