Written Answers. - Offaly Schools.

94.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the building project for the erection of a new national school at Boher, County Offaly.

Following receipt of tenders for the proposed new national school at Boher, County Offaly, a review of the enrolments established that five classrooms only were needed instead of the six originally proposed. My Department has the necessary consultations and revisions in hands arising from the change in the accommodation schedule with a view to placing a contract at the earliest possible date.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the building project at Killeigh national school, Killeigh, Tullamore, County Offaly.

The placing of a contract for the proposed new national school at Killeigh, County Offaly, has been authorised subject to compliance with the usual rules and procedures. As provision has been made in the scheme for one classroom in excess of the number of teachers at present in the school, it has been found necessary to carry out a review of enrolment projections. When this review has been completed, my Department will be in a position to decide on what basis the contract should proceed.
