Vol. 372 No. 6

Written Answers. - Waterford Harbour Board.

69.

asked the Minister for the Marine if he will give details of who is responsible for decisions taken by the general manager of the Waterford Harbour Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Waterford Harbour Commissioners are statutorily required to take all proper measures for the management, control and operation of Waterford Harbour and for this purpose to appoint or employ such personnel as may be necessary including a general manager. The decisions taken by the general manager would be subject to the overriding control of the Harbour Commissioners but the general manager has specific power to employ or discharge an employee other than an officer.
