The number of staff employed in the Oireachtas Library during each of the years 1983 to 1986 was ten comprising one chief librarian, four assistant librarians, two clerical assistants (clerical duties), one clerical assistant (typing duties), and two paperkeepers.
The disposition of staff within the overall allocation available to the Houses of the Oireachtas is a matter for the Ceann Comhairle and I do not think it appropriate for me to comment on the adequacy of the staffing in any particular area.
