I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes concerned has not got sufficient information at present to enable him to come to a firm conclusion as to the proper tax treatment of the discounts in question. The inspector is communicating with the ESB with a view to obtaining the information required by him for the purpose of determining the tax status of the discounts.
