Vol. 372 No. 13

Written Answers. - Medical Card Eligibility.

271.

asked the Minister for Health the outcome of the appeal for a medical card by a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 who is on home oxygen and has considerable medical expenses.

Eligibility for a medical card is determined solely by the chief executive officer of a health board.

Accordingly, in this instance, the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Eastern Health Board, with a request that he reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
