asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present rates of compensation for reactor cattle under the bovine tuberculosis eradication scheme and under the brucellosis eradication scheme; the date of the last increase in compensation; and if he has any plans to increase the present level of compensation.

The following rates of grants apply at present under the disease eradication schemes:

The rates were last increased on the 11 February 1985.

The present difficult budgetary situation does not permit any increase in these grants.
