84.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when payment of a grant under the cow suckler scheme will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

The payment of grants under the 1986 sucker cow scheme to the person named will be considered further when an investigation into the ownership of animals on which he has claimed grants has been completed.

85.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a grant under the farm modernisation scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the work was inspected and approved three months ago.

The grant of £2,545 will be paid shortly together with a number of other grants certified about the same time.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a farm installation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where the application was made prior to the budget and was approved.

An application under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers was received from the person mentioned prior to the termination of the scheme on 31 March 1987. The application is currently being investigated and if the applicant is found to be eligible, payment will be made in due course.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if a farm installation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and the present position regarding same.

An application under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers was not received by ACOT from the person mentioned prior to the termination of the scheme on 31 March 1987. Consequently he is ineligible for payment of an installation premium.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a farm installation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

An application under the scheme of installation aid for young farmers was received from the person mentioned prior to the termination of the scheme on 31 March, 1987. The application is currently being investigated and if the applicant is found to be eligible, payment will be made in due course.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry is not in receipt of a grant under the western drainage scheme.

In this case the field drainage work was not completed by 31 December 1986 when the western drainage scheme expired. The EC Commission have been asked to extend the relevant regulation and pending a decision in the matter it is not possible to say whether a grant can be paid.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for the delay in having a grant under the farm modernisation scheme paid to persons (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where all works have been inspected and passed; if an early payment can be arranged; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The grant could not be paid to the persons concerned until evidence was received that milk production for the year ended 31 March 1987 was within the permanent milk quota allocated to them. This evidence was received only recently and payment will be made shortly.

92.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason for non-payment of a grant under the farm modernisation scheme to a person (details supplied) in County Cavan; and if he will reconsider the application having regard to the amount of work done.

The person mentioned received approval for work to be undertaken under the farm modernisation scheme. No notification has been received by the farm development service that the approved project has been completed. If such notification is received, the project will be inspected with a view to payment of a grant, if everything is found to be in order.

The person mentioned also received approval for field drainage under the western drainage scheme. Notification was not received by the farm development service that the work was completed by 31 December 1986, when the scheme expired. The EC Commission have been asked to extend the measure so as to allow for the completion of drainage works started before the end of 1986 but which could not be finished due to last years bad weather.

93.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a cow subsidy will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named was deemed ineligible for the 1986 beef cow scheme as he does not occupy and farm at least 7.5 statute acres (3 hectares) in a disadvantaged area as required by the terms and conditions of that scheme.

He was deemed ineligible for the 1986 suckler cow scheme also as his farm income was less than 50 per cent of total income.

He has been paid his 1986 calf premium scheme grants already.
