49.

asked the Minister for the Environment the present position regarding the house improvement grant application of a person (details supplied) in County Offaly.

Grants totalling £7,841 have been approved.

asked the Minister for the Environment in relation to the application for a house improvement grant of a person (details supplied) in County Offaly if he will have the grant of approval amended to enable the person to obtain a full grant to do all works proposed; or whether a grant of £2,000 will be given to him for the repairs on the roof to the extension to be carried out only, in view of the emergency involved in having the roof repaired.

A maximum repairs grant of £2,000 has been approved. Certain documentation has been requested from the applicant to determine his eligibility for a pre-1940 dwellings grant.

asked the Minister for the Environment when payment of a house improvement grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford.

An inspection with a view to payment of the grant will be carried out as soon as possible.

52.

asked the Minister for the Environment if a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who is an applicant for a house improvement grant has been authorised to commence work.

A grant cannot be allowed because, contrary to a qualifying condition of the scheme, a period of seven years had not elapsed since the payment of a £5,000 surrender grant on the purchase of the house.
