Vol. 373 No. 9

Written Answers. - Repossession of Local Authority Houses.

113.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make the necessary finance available to allow a local authority, where a house is repossessed as a result of failure to repay a loan provided by that authority, to include that dwelling in the local authority's stock of houses for letting purposes.

The administration of house purchase loan schemes is a matter for each local authority concerned. I am not satisfied that it would be appropriate to make special allocations of funds to local authorities in the circumstances set out by the Deputy.
