asked the Minister for Finance the number of demands for payment of arrears of value added tax issued by the office of the Collector General through the revenue sheriff for County Roscommon in the last three months and the years to which such demands apply.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that, in the three months March to May 1987, the Collector-General issued 189 certificates to the revenue sheriff for County Roscommon in respect of value-added tax arrears for the years 1977 to 1986 inclusive.

asked the Minister for Finance the total revenue involved in the arrears of value added tax currently being sought by the Collector General in County Roscommon through the revenue sheriff for the county.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the total value of certificates in the hands of the revenue sheriff for Roscommon on 15 June 1987 in respect of value-added tax arrears, was £840,636.
