Vol. 373 No. 12

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

121.

asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a portion of a house improvement grant in respect of window repairs was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork even though the application and completed work was passed by the Department's inspector, while the Department could refuse the portion of the grant in respect of roof repairs which was found to be unsatisfactory; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

It is a condition of the house improvement grants scheme that a grant for repairs to a house cannot be paid until all works deemed necessary by the Department's inspector have been carried out. In this case a further report has been requested from the inspector and the applicant will be notified of the outcome.
