Vol. 373 No. 13

Written Answers. - Disability Benefit.

128.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason payment of disability benefit has been discontinued to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will review the case.

Payment of disability benefit was disallowed to the person concerned following an examination by a medical referee on 11 May 1987, who expressed the opinion that he was capable of work. He appealed against this decision on 15 June 1987 and arrangements are being made to have him examined by a different medical referee. His entitlement to disability benefit will be reviewed in the light of the medical referee's report.
