Vol. 373 No. 13

Written Answers. - Farm Accounts.

19.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food his views on whether one set of accounts should be sufficient for income tax purposes and qualification for farm improvement grants; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In accordance with EC rules each participant in the Farm Improvement Programme (FIP) is required to present for each year of his plan simple accounts of a management nature including a balance sheet, revenue and expenditure of the farm, particulars of land owned or leased, crops grown, livestock owned and milk quota held. Provided whatever accounts a farmer presents to the Revenue Commissioners for tax purposes include the information listed they are acceptable for FIP purposes.
