Vol. 373 No. 13

Written Answers. - Telephone and Postal Costs.

102.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the estimated amount that his Department will pay to Telecom Éireann and An Post during 1987 for services rendered; if it is possible to make savings in these areas of expenditure and if he will give the corresponding figures for the 1986 out-turn.

The estimated amounts which my Department will pay in 1987 to Telecom Éireann and An Post for telephone and postal services, are £1.5 million and £1.25 million respectively. The corresponding amounts paid in 1986 were £1.4 million and £1.2 million respectively.

These services are continuously monitored for the purpose of reducing expenditure on them wherever possible.
