asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Clare.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes will not be in a position to determine if, or to what extent, the taxpayer is entitled to a refund of income tax for 1986-87, until certain outstanding information is received. The inspector wrote to the taxpayer in the matter recently. On receipt of the required information the taxpayer's liability for 1986-87 will be reviewed and any refund found to be due will be made.

23.

asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will expedite the matter.

The Revenue Commissioners have advised me that a refund of £409.14 has been calculated as being due in this case and a cheque in settlement should reach the taxpayer within the next week.
