Vol. 373 No. 14

Written Answers. - North-South Electricity Link.

64.

asked the Minister for Energy the plans, if any, he has to recommission the ESB electricity interconnector with the Northern Ireland Electricity Service.

The electricity interconnector, which was commissioned in 1970, has been out of action since 1975, due to malicious damage on the Northern side of the Border. The situation is being kept under review, and any opportunity that may arise for restoration of the link will be availed of.
