A tender submission for the cottage in question was received in my Department in May, 1987. The technical aspects of which are generally acceptable. The council has advised my Department that it is not in a position to finance the provision of this cottage from the allocation made in 1987 to the Council for the provision of such houses. As the funds available for the local authority housing construction programme in 1987 have already been fully allocated, it is not possible to issue sanction in 1987 for this, or any similar, proposal.
