Vol. 374 No. 1

Written Answers. - Dublin Millennium Celebrations.

223.

asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, the Government have to play their part in the Dublin Millennium celebrations.

As the Deputy is probably aware, the Government established a sub-committee earlier this year under my chairmanship to consider the forthcoming Dublin Millennium celebrations. A report from the sub-committee is being considered by the Government. While I cannot anticipate the decisions of the Government, I hope to be in a position to make an announcement shortly. The Deputy will also be aware that the Government have already approved, and I have announced, a grant of £250,000 to Dublin Corporation in 1987 towards the cost of repaving and improving Grafton Street.
