asked the Minister for Labour if any private consultants have been engaged by his Department within the past year; if so, the names of these consultants; the terms of their engagement; the fees paid to date; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Since October 1986 the Department of Labour paid out a total of £102,000 for consultancy services. The details are as follows:
