Vol. 374 No. 1

Written Answers. - Proposed Sale of Semi-State Agencies.

33.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the plans, if any, he has to sell off all or part of any of the agencies under his control; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have no plans at present to sell all or part of any of the State agencies under my control. However, I should say that in the case of Ceimicí Teoranta, which is in liquidation, the liquidator is currently seeking to dispose of the company's remaining assets. The Deputy will also be aware of the joint venture announced yesterday between Nitrigin Éireann Teoranta and the ICI subsidiary, Richardsons Fertilisers Limited, Belfast, which will involve the transfer of certain NET assets and properties, as well as assets of the ICI subsidiary to the new company, Irish Fertilizer Industries Limited, in which NET will hold a majority share. The ownership of NET which is a 100 per cent State owned company will remain unchanged.
