Vol. 374 No. 2

Written Answers. - Primary Schools Floor Area.

76.

asked the Minister for Education the prescribed floor area per pupil, if any, in primary schools; and if there is none, the suggested floor area.

The Rules for National Schools provided that, normally, classroom accommodation is based on an allowance of 15 square feet per pupil. The rules also set out that a floor area of 600 square feet is normally allowed for each classroom, and that in special cases the floor area may be raised with the Minister's approval.
